Sam 6.0 and MOTU 828 mk2

Hello,

I'm using Sam 6.0 producer 2496 with a MOTU 828 mk2 under Win XP.

I have problems re: the resolution of the driver. Sam doesn't want to
play back in 24 bits. When I check '16 bits playback' in the Y menu,
everything is fine.

Here are my questions :
- Does Sam 6.0 support WDM drivers ? ASIO Drivers ? (Sound only works
when I enable the use of MME support on my soundcard configuration)
- Do MME drivers only work in 16 bits ?
- Should I upgrade to version 7 / 8 ? I'm quite happy with version 6.0
for the moment...

Thanks

Do you have a soundblaster also connected to this computer? or other low
resolution sound card?
If you do disable them in samp audio setup.

No, there's no such soundcard in my system.

However, I discussed on this matter in alt.sekd, and they say I have to
upgrade to Sam 6.05 because MME drivers are only for 16 bits play back,
and support for WDM is only available in the upgrade.

Here's a copy of our discussion, in case anyone is interested :

Yes , You have to upgrade to 6.05 to access WDM .
