Hello,

This evening, my computer froze while viewing a website. I did a hard reboot and restarted my computer - however when my computer turned back on, I have found that my network card is no longer working and my computer is giving me the following message when I look at the device via the device manager: "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)". Keep in mind it was working a few minutes before I had the crash.

Here's what I have done so far:

Card: Edimax ew-7711in
Drivers: Uninstalled and re-installed - however when I attempt to install the latest driver, it freezes my computer.
Hardware: Unplugged it from my Motherboard and plugged it back in. Here I found that the light on the card doesn't appear to be lighting up however I'm not sure if it only light's up when there's an active connection. Currently, I'm unable to connect it via Ethernet.

Suggestions/tips? Sorry if this is in the wrong section!

It seems like it probably is a hardware failure, but just to be sure, try booting a live Linux distro (e.g., Ubuntu) and see if it works there.

Btw, no need to install Ubuntu, just run it. It won't use your hard drive or alter your system in anyway.
