Is there a retractable antenna available for a Motorola V60 Color cell
phone? If so, will you please tell me where to purchase it? And,
what is involved in replacing the existing standard stubby antenna?
We live in an area that is exclusively AT&T Wireless TDMA 850 MHz, and
the standard stubby antenna that comes with the V60 Color just doesn't
seem to be providing the reception necessary.
Thank you for your advice.
Although their shipping is a little steep considering they use USPS
parcel post (figure 3-10 days), their return process is automated, and
they ship the day after you order.
I bought an extra to save the trouble of buying a new one when it
inevitably breaks. (And I carry the original with me when just in case.)

Unscrew old one, screw in new one. No tools required (as long as your
current one isn't broken). When the extendable one breaks, it can be
replaced with a flat-head screwdriver.

I get about a half a bar increase in the fringe area I live in on the
service you describe. I can place a call from my driveway if the gods are
pleased. Using test mode I measured a 4dB improvement (about 3x the signal
strength) with the antenna extended while in my house.
If you need even more signal you might check into a Wilson Yagi antenna
from Brandolini Electronics - Tom is very helpful:

Tim,
Thanks for your reply. Based upon the information provided by that
company, it appears that this product is not compatible with the V60
Color cell phone. Are you able to confirm that you are using this
replacement retractable antenna with a V60 Color cell phone?
Thanks!

Tim,
Thanks for the additional information. I sent an e-mail to your
source and received the following reply:

I specifically asked them about the Motorola V60 Color, which does NOT
appear in the list of models they provide. It seems like they don't
want to say that it won't work, but are also not willing to say that
it will.

Easy enough to check: try unscrewing your antenna by giving it a gentle
twist.
