I have a pair of speakers that are 4 ohms and I need to connect them to an
amp that requires a minumum of 8 ohms. Is there something simple I can do
electronically (add resistors or something like that) to accomplish this. I
really don't know much about it. Help!

The minimum of 8 ohm is to prevent an excess current. This will protect
the amplifier.
I would not worry too much about this figure. Even a true 8 ohm speaker
can have a lower impedance than rated depending on the freq. of the signal.
The amplifier will deliver more power (twice as much) to a 4 ohm load
compared to an 8 ohm load.
At half the output voltage (6 dB down) the amplifier delivers half the
current (and a quarter of the power). Just try not to give it full volume.
Connect two 4 ohm speakers in series to supply the 8 ohm resistive load your
amp requires. Do not fool with any other method, it's bad for your output
transformers.

I don't think we're dealing with the sort of gear that has output
transformers?
