Help with Soldier of Fortune 1

Hello,
I am stuck in the Iraq 2a level. I can't use the pump to open the gate just
past the watchtower. ANy ideas?

I double we're going to remember since the game was a while ago. Your best
bet would be to google for some walkthroughs.
