You think my wi-fi card is going?

Here's the deal. Desktop wired to router pinging desktop with wireless adapter. I have no issues with any other computer including wireless. It is roughly 25-30 feet from the router.

It's strange that I can ping from the wireless computer to any other computer on the network (including my own) without any timeouts. Occasionally there will be some pings with latency in the hundreds (100-600~ ms).

So it's pinging, then it fails, then pings. Sometimes with high latency it pings successfully. You think the wi-fi card is failing on that desktop? The only thing between it and the router is a large freezer.

More about card going
  1. It might simply be that because ping messages are a low priority and not critical that your router does not bother to send them all, or perhaps your desktop does not reply to them all.
