Doom 3 is supposed to (ini file edit) but I couldn't get it to work.
UT2K3 and 4 do.

I know that there is a console command for Far Cry that puts it in
cinematic mod, and that may, or may not, look good on your LCD.
However, be forewarned that your LCD has an optimum "native"
resolution at which it displays everything correctly with respect to
aspect ratio, etc. For games that do not support that native
resolution, you will need to change the resolution of your LCD, and
whichs it will use a fancy algorithm to interpolate this new
resolution.
On normal (i.e., non-widescreen) LCDs, this stretching can be
noticeable at certain non-native resolutions. Do the math:
-a nice 21" LCD that does 1600x1200 natively has a 1.33 ratio.
-if you need to interpolate 640x480 (for Starcraft, for
example), it should look pretty good (ratio of 1.33).
-if you need to interpolate 1024x769, it should look pretty
good (1.33).
-if you need to interpolate 1280x1024, it will look
"stretched" (1.21 ratio).
For you, with a widescreen resolution, this stretching could be VERY
pronounced when you have to support "normal" aspect ratio game (4:3 or
1.33). The stretching experienced on any LCD is really vendor and
model specific...

I used it to get BF1942 and some other games running in true widescreen.

The site above is pbly the best resource for widescreen gaming.
Another site that's OK is TigerDave's Widescreen Gaming List
http://www.tigerdave.com/wgl/
I've played the following games on my 50" DLP HDTV at its
native widescreen 16:9 resolution 1280x720, connected via
DVI-HDMI to my GF4 Ti4200 (will be upgrading soon):
UT2K4
Half Life 2
Need for Speed Underground 2
Rome: Total War
Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War

You must have a good video card...my experience with widescreen games
so far has been terrible performance. I have the Sony widescreen
and a 5700-256 that makes games a slide show.
Homeworld 2 is another deal...this game looks awesome on a widescreen...
too bad the game could be better...
Your responders are correct...but those games listed require a VERY
good graphics card to even push it to barely playability.
Perhaps the new SLI setup might fix this....
