Chances are that the video repost sequence in your motherboard's BIOS is taking a "long" time, or rather, longer than the signal timeout on the sensor line of the display, which is why you see the message for a fraction of a second.
My vid card reposts pretty fast and I only see this message on the 920 PRO DVi when the power supply to the box is off.
