IE8 never on my computer! Help!

I\'m trying to put IE8 on Windows 7. My computer never had IE8 so I can\'t just uninstall IE9. As a matter of fact IE9 doesn\'t show up in the Programs section of the Control Panel. I tried to turn it off using Turn on/off Windows Programs but IE8 didn\'t pop up. How can I install IE8 on Windows 7?

download Firefox just in case but do not install it.

then go to Programs and Features in the Control Panel

on the left side you will see "View Installed Updates"

you should be able to find IE9 in the list to uninstall.

once you uninstalled it and rebooted you computer, Windows will automatically install ie8

IE8 is part of Windows7 default file set; however, SP1 installs IE9

some systems that have Windows7 SP1 pre-installed have IE9 installed
