I just had an ECC module go bad and replaced it with a non ECC module, the machine does seem faster, and from just my opinion, it seems that the more expensive ECC modules, also have more that can go wrong with them. For what its worth to You. 4ryan6
The obvious answer is yes, it does impact performance. The question I have for you is "Why do you wnat ECC?" If you need guarenteed memory stability in the system you are building or already have then yes by all means get it.
That is the simple answer for ECC. If you want to protect yourself from a crash due to one bit errors then ECC is your man. If you don't care about that then get Non-ECC memory.
