System ..

XP
HD 80gigs

I used partition magic 7.0 to make two partitions. One partion for DOS and one partition for XP.

Windows XP is now lost and can only boot up to C-prompt with DOS directory.
Rescue disk shows C partition 3 gigs out of 80 with DOS being in that directory. The remaining hard drive is un-allocated.

I believe my entire Harddisk was formatted instead of the 3 gig partition. Can i bring back my XP due to important files stored on XP?
If yes, please post intructions/details on how to retrieve my files.

Thankyou for your time !

PS: Currently on friends PC : <

if you have a sparre hdd, there is a chance, theres software available to recover data, lost & found is one, ontrack data recovery is another (expensive), I once fdisked/formatted the wrong partition and got most of my stuff back with lost & found.
