I am looking for an app that will allow me to use these both at the same
time and keeping them in sync so I can modify either and then the Palm
unit will also have the current data on it whether I use Palm Desktop or
Outlook. (I have different reasons for needing both!)
Is this possible? If no freeware...what alternatives are there.
Thanks
PS - Already I have duplicates in my Contacts and so want to get rid of
those. Ideas anyone...?
I have just started looking for something with a different goal in
mind, but may have found a couple things that would work for you.
DoubleLook (www.companionlink.com) runs as a system tray applet and
syncs Palm Desktop with Outlook (contacts, calendar, tasks). Your Palm
then Syncs with Palm Desktop only, and picks up Outlook changes
through it. No need for an Outlook conduit. $55. I downloaded a demo,
but have not tried it yet.
SwitchSync (www.livepim.com) is a lot cheaper ($15) but more
complicated for what you want to do. It provides an easier way to
switch back and forth between Outlook and PD conduits, and also allows
you to mix Outlook and Palm syncs, i.e. you can sync your Palm with PD
Calendar but Outlook Contacts. For what you want, you'd have to sync
with PD, then use Switch sync to change to the Outlook conduits, then
sync again.
I want to sync only my calendar with both PD and OL, but I only want
items in the "Business" category to go into OL. I want everything to
be on the Palm and in PD. So what I really need is DoubleLook with a
filtering function, which I don't know if it has.

It would be a sales point if it did allow filtering (so you'd probably
already know about it...).
OTOH, it may allow filtering of "Private" records.
If you aren't already using "Private" records in a different way, you
might be able to mark everything except "Business" records as "Private".
