I have a SB128 PCI digital. I downloaded newest drivers from official website for both xp and 98. Now I find out that the sound quality is so much better under 98 and under xp the sound quality is no different from that of onboard AC97. Why is that? I think xp force SB128 to use directsound as an intermediate step during processing. I'm not quite sure but someone please tell me how to improve sound quality under xp?
