I have an ASUS A7A266 MB, and and AMD XP 1800+ running on it, along with windows XP. I have the ASUS probe running to keep track of my cpu temp, voltage and such. I get spikes every now and them. either the temp will go below its thresh hold for as sec, or my temp on my cpu will shoot real high, or my cpu fan will go below its thresh hold. all of these happen spuraticly but never longer than a second, at most. could this be my power supply or my cpu fan. I'm using a Antec fan with a large square copper heat sink. my fan rpm's are at about 7200 - 7500, I have my cpu fan thresh hold set at 6000 and the temp usually stays at 50 - 52 and my thresh hold is set for 60. any suggestions???
Your CPU temps seem pretty high to me considering the heatsink/fan you're running, did you use thermal compound or the little pad on the heatsink? My temps under load and OVclocked are 10c lower than yours. What wattage is the power supply you're running and what else do you have in your machine including case fans?
