This just started happening, eventhough I haven't installed anything new on my computer. I get a quick (somewhere around 1 second) static sound everytime I maximise or minimize a window on my computer while listening to MP3s. Sometimes the sound is louder than others, but I always get it. I got the new drivers and that didn't help, and I checked the speaker cables (But I figure it software related.) I've tried Winamp, Windows Media Player, and ATI File Player, all with the same problem. Can anybody recommend a fix?

System:
AMD 1.4 Tbird
Philips Acoustic Edge
Windows 2000
Radeon 8500
768 Crucial DDR PC2100

Now we're rockin like dokken!

This is gonna sound trite, but do you have the latest 4 in 1 drivers, assuming you're using a Via chipset? I recall a while back there were crackly audio problems on unpatched via-based boards.
