My Plextor CDR/RW 12/10/32 scsi seems to play music CD's better than either of my other drives, Pioneer DVD or plain vanilla Asus CD player.
The dynamic range is better and so is the clarity.
This is on the same system.
Can anyone enlighten me?
I was always told burning CD-R/RW for burning, and playing
CD-R for playing.

If there's a real reason for keeping CD-Rs for playing music, it's cos they're cheaper than CD-RWs and therefore expendable.

~ Gotta question? Tried searching the boards first? Good! Ask away! ~

Maybe the Plextor has a better DAC.

By the way how did you connect the audio on more than one player in the same system?

With on board sound don't need to connect with the three wire link. I think I found the solution, it was either crud
on the optics of the DVD or CD or a poor connection. All
is now well and it is now difficult to differentiate between
the Plextor CD-R/RW and the DVD,CD as it should be.

thanks
By the way the Plextor is a scsi. Can that answer your question about audio conection?
