The hook-up USB from modem to desktop isn\'t working

I plugged in the USB from the Modem to my desktop and my desktop doesn't see the modem, I don't want the router to my desktop because it is interferring with my magicjack

You can't run the modem connected to a computer off USB as well as having the modem on the router. They are designed to provide one system a direct connection, router OR PC.

The desktop should not be interfering with anything, you may need to check how you set things up if it is.

thank you for your help, yeah i realized can't have both from modem, so I setup the ethernet cable for PC, so far all are working.
