Has someone here done any comparisons between the Tascam FW1884, the MOTU
896HD/HD192 and RME's FIREFACE?
I'd be really grateful to hear your opinions, especially on the quality of
the converters, preamps and overall headroom.
I know MOTU is mainly a Mac based setup and i'm also interested how they
perform on PC's

Hope to hear from you soon!

I've been using a FW-1884 for about a year now. I can't answer your question
explicitly, since I haven't had an opportunity to compare the FW with the
other products you mentioned. But if you're planning to by an FW and want to
discuss it offline, feel free to contact me directly.

Um . . . is there something about it that you don't want to discuss on
line or on the newsgroup? Nobody will accuse you of being a shill
(even if you are) if you discuss it intelligently and have more to say
other than it's the best thing since sliced Neves.

I am planning a MOTU HD 192 in a few weeks. I have a 1224 sustem already and
the MOTU runs fine if you have the right MOBO/chip combo.
