Stupid game tricks

Since things are a little slow, i'm curious as to how many idiotic
things people have encountered in games that show the developers (story
writers/level designers/etc) not thinking things out and adding
something incredibly stupid.

I'll start with 2
1. Jedi Outcast - the communication level that can only be traversed
using force jump, even though the people who are using it normally are
just normal people.

2. Freelancer - where you are told to change ships (just after getting
to Bretonia space) because the bounty hunters will have a description of
your ship.
Indeed until you change ships you do get frequent spawns of bounty
hunters attacking you.
The thing is, while all of this is going on, you are constantly
identifying yourself as "freelancer alpha 1-1" and this identifier is
being sent by transponder since random people attacking you say they're
attacking "freelancer alpha 1-1."
What's the point of changing ships when you're still broadcasting who
you are?

I don't particularly want you to FOAD, myself. You'll be more of
a cautionary example if you'll FO And Get Chronically, Incurably,
Painfully, Progressively, Expensively, Debilitatingly Ill. So
