Can anybody help here. Just got a V600 and have one little problem.

When I turn the phone on or off for that matter it plays a tune.

I prefer to have silence when I turn the thing on or off. The other things
like keypad beeps I have sorted.

The phone is on T-Mobile if that helps

Thanks

Ian

Can't be changed I'm afraid Ian.

Only known work-around, set the phone to silent before you turn it off and
re-set it to you desired alert when you turn it back on.

I have an idea - you CAN in fact add your own startup and shutdown
sounds, you have to title them correctly, that's all. If you can connect
your phone to your computer, via bluetooth or a cable, then you may very
well be in luck. I have a custom startup sound on my phone that plays
every time i power the phone on. All you have to do is title them
Start~up.mp3 and Power~down.mp3. So - if you can find, or somehow
compose (using sound recorder and some freeware utility or whatever to
convert the .wav to .mp3) a silent mp3, make a copy of it, and send it
to your phone using the file names I just told you, it should start and
turn off silently.

Actually, if you have a datacable, you can use the Motorola Software (aka
VictorGSM) available at http://www.motclub.com/html/programs.htm to disable
it. If I remember correctly, the 3.2.3 beta version will work just fine
(and it's the smallest download).

Sorry, that should be Motorola Service Software.
