Been working, Joe. But I wanted to see what was happening at the old place,
you know. (And now that you remind me, I have a question about the Cinemix;
I'll e-mail you a bit later today).

Really? I'm thinking about buying one for our bedroom, so I can get a
quick hit as soon as I wake up. You're stuck their beans, right?
Yeah, as far as I can tell, you're stuck with their pods. And it works out
to be about 80 cents a mug (which uses 2 pods). I'm not gonna get rid of the
coffee pot, but it's a nice thing for that post prandial cup of coffee, and
into the evening, when a whole pot would probably go to waste. It would also
be lovely first thing in the morning, while waiting for the pot to make.

Ah, now we're getting around to important off-topic discussions for a
change. I guess it took getting Dave Martin coming back.
I don't know if there's a standard size packet for these machines
that's interchangeable between brands, but yes, they use prepacked
coffee and it's probably, at least initially, available only from the
company that makes your coffee maker - which may make the choice of
the coffee maker a function of the coffee that you can buy for it.
But like so many things in the studio business, how do you find out
what suits you? In a good market, you might find a shop that has
several monitors or mics that you can try, but I usually swing by the
kitchen department when I'm in a department store, and while most all
of them have one of these single-shot coffee makers, none have more
than one brand on display. And even when they have one operating so
you can get a sample of what it produces, unless you know what you
like and can say yea or nay based on comparing it with your knowledge
rather than an A/B comparison with another sample, you can't really
make a choice other than "I like it" or "I don't like it." You'll
never know that you bought "the best."
Now, what's everyone barbecuing for Labor Day? Ribs and pork shoulder
is on sale around here.

Organic hamburger. Wild Oats is the only grocery store gonna be open.

They call the packets 'pods', and the instructions say that you can only use
the Senseo pods. But I'll do a search and find out what else it
available.... Because those posts make coffee with foam on the top kinda
like you get in German restaurants (that is, restaurants in Germany), we've
found that the dark roast is closest to the European style coffee that I
like.

Well, there were samples of three different roasts included with the pot -
that helped us to make a decision...

Jeez, I forgot that Monday is a holiday. Maybe I can talk Carolyn into doing
fried chicken. If not, I'll have to buy a new grill so I can barbecue some.

If Carolyn is doing fried chicken, sounds like another trip to Nashville is in
order. <g>

Come on! You know we'll set a couple of places for y'all, Harvey.

Be sure to grill it over organic charcoal (which, if Wild Oats is what
I think it is, carries it).
