Wifi help

So my new computer (desktop) seems to be have connection problems with my home wifi.
Our internet connection is supposed to be around 7 Mbits/s.

My older laptop ,in the same location as my desktop gets 5-6 Mbit down and .5-.6 up, whereas right now my desktop is only getting .3-.4 down and .7 up

i am using this wireless card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833320113
I don't have the option of running an ethernet cord up into this room

any ideas?

try disabling IPv6 in the network card properties

Just did another test and now it seems to be working fine, maybe it was because i restarted the modem/router?
