Problem with Linksys Router

Hello, I am trying to hook up at Linksys WRT54L Router to my modem. Now I get it all setup and everything I connect my laptop to the wireless and everything is fine now my problem is when I connect another wireless device to my router it disconnects/lags out the other device. It's like only letting 1 wireless device use the WIFI any help would be very appreciated thanks

Could be the router, try updating the firmware.

Have you tried changing the order of the wireless devices you connect? Try the second one first.

I had a WRT54 and the wireless on it pretty much died after a few years.

I tried downloading/applying the newest firmware for my router from linksys and it says update failed every time i try to update it.

That's not a good sign, unless you download it manually and maybe got the wrong one.

Try power cycling the router then trying the update.

If that fails again, you may want to consider replacing it.
