Q-Tips and plain isopropyl alcohol, preferably 91% or purer.
Note that some swabs sold for electronic cleaning -- especially those with wood
sticks -- use glue to hold the cotton to the stick. You don't want that, as it
might dissolve and wind up on the head. Get swabs where the "sticking" is
strictly mechanical.
There are also cassettes with a fabric you soak with cleaner. Unless the heads
are hard to reach, I'd rather do it "by hand."

To add to the other post, you can get some chamois-like cleaning sticks from
Radio Shack. They work pretty well.
