Hello,

Does anyone here have some experience with the TBS VSR-3 ? How does it
compare with the vintage TASCAM and FOSTEX spring reverb units ? How does it
sound ? Perhaps you'd care to post a link to sound clip ?

I wish to use the VSR-3 with my vintage TASCAM 244 portastudio for vocals,
in an effects loop, to get some nice vintage reverb character. I've used the
microverb, nanoverb, Lexicon mpx-100 and a few others but all these sounded
either too "digital" or too "perfect" or may I say too "modern" for my
taste.

It's hard to find any info on the TBS VSR-3 on the web and that's why I ask.

Thanks in advance!

Daniel

Spring reberbs all sound like spring reverbs.
Very ugly sound, but if it is the sound you want, look
for a used Orban. They are more controllable
than most of the spring boxes out there.

I always liked the Peavey springs from the '80s. One of the reasons I
keep my 701R around, along with the RIAA-curve preamp on two channels.

Were they still using the "Folded Line" units (assembled by beautiful
girls) or did they switch to Accutronics?

I'm not sure, other than "Looks kinda like a spring with wires attached
criss-crossing the back of the unit"

So I'll just be hopeful and say "Beautiful Mississippi Girls." (Says
Made in USA, so presumably MS)
