Howdy,

What is this XMS memory put out by Corsair?

Is it really that much better than regular pc2700 DDR.
These different types of memory are starting to get out of hand, no?
I already have 256mb of Corsair "regular" PC2700 DDR, I assume that the two types cannot be mixed.

Anyine have any experience with XMS?

I believe XMS is just a name to attract our eyes, I saw the same models before they came with the XMS place on their site, correct me if i'm wrong.

The XMS series made by Corsair Memory Inc. is for the hardcore computer guy. The XMS series comes in two forms, the normal XMS, this has an aluminum heatspreader and the Platinum series, this has a platinum\silver heatspreader. The XMS series is made specifically for extreme performance and overclocking. If you dont plan to overclock you dont really need the XMS series. If you want to overclock, these are the best DDR Ram modules you can buy. The XMS series also have the ability to run at DDR 400 with a CAS latency of 2.0, unlike many other brands.

You could mix these, but it wouldnt be practical. Why would u want to have an Xtreme module with a "normal" one. I will be putting XMS DDR 400 modules in my new comp because of the good reputation that they have. I have heard that this is some of the best memory around for overclocking.
