Anyone else having a prob starting pariah? Did full install. Running on
AMD Athlon 64 3200+, 512 memory, ATI 9600XT 128meg. When I start the
game i get an error message that emulation software was detected and to
turn it off. I have Alcohol 120 but it's not running. I turned off one
process that is related to Alcohol but I still get the message.

Can't find anything on Pariah forums and Groove games support has not
answered my email.

Anyone help?

Thanks.

Might have to uninstall it. And any other burning software Nero

Dont you love that kind of protection.

Is it using that awful Star Force protection?

I would suggest sending it back to whoever makes the game and tell them
you're not paying for a game that tries to tell you what software you can
run on your PC or not. I have heard that some Star Force protected games do
this. There should be no excuse for a program to refuse to work just
because it detects other programs on your PC. This would be the equivalent
of your Chevy refusing to start because you have a Ford parked in the
driveway too.

I agree with you.

I actually received a reply from Groove support last night. Very polite
email describing how to disable Alcohol, Nero, Daemon and Clone CD
emulation settings. I only have Nero and Alcohol on my comp, so I tried
their suggestions for these progs and still get error message.

Going to try uninstalling Alcohol to see if that works. If not, back to
WalMart with the game.

My god! Take a pill and go for a nap.

Do you think Alcohol's only purpose is to illegally copy games???? Do
you??? Clueless one??
I do not pirate games. I copy all of my software in case of probllems
with the originals.

Craig

P.s. Bite me.

I was going to buy this game, but there's no chance of that now with this
being the case. I also heard that Silent Hunter III is also using the same
copy protection scheme. If so, I'll avoid it too.
