Hello all, I am looking at getting a "budget" tube preamp for my home
studio. The only other preamp I have is a presonus MP20 with jensen
trannies and mackie (non VLZ) board pres. The MP20 is pretty clean for
the price, but recording 20 tracks with it limits the sonics of my
mixes in my opinion. I am looking to compliment it with something a
bit different sounding. I am recording pop/rock/alt.country/country.
Preamp would be used for all instruments- drums, guitars, bass DI,
vox.
So which of the aforementioned preamps is better? Both have EQ, though
with switches instead of knobs I would guess the sebatron may be more
limited in this area. I have heard that the sebatron is fat sounding
but not very detailed; anyone have any opinions on this? Anyone
actually compare the two?

You might want to ask Kurt Foster over at recording.org. I think he married
a Sebatron pre, or at least is having an affair with one. Dunno if his wife
knows, so dummy up.
