What happened to VIA's support for DDR400?

"<b>Benefits of VIA Apollo KT400</b>
Unmatched Performance for the AMD Athlon™ XP processor
The VIA Apollo KT400 features the world's most efficient memory controller, designed for exceptionally high performance. With a 200/266MHz processor bus and supporting DDR200/266/333 memory, the VIA Apollo KT400 provides lightning fast access to system memory and can reach a peak bandwidth of 2.7GB/sec, 25% greater than the KT266A, enabling the full performance potential of the fastest AMD Athlon™ XP processors to be harnessed. Who cares, the SiS 645DX performs better with DDR333 than the P4X400 does with DDR400. "Highest Performance" is claimed by a lot of companies, even when disproven.

Oh, I know you hate VIA chipsets, Crash. (I don't think they s*ck but I don't want another one either). It's just that I am pretty sure the links used to mention DDR400. Now they don't.

Since the KT266A VIA has done a much better job with AMD (SiS is still less problematic), but they've never made a good product for Intel processors. It wouldn't surprize me at all if the P4X400 had it's 400 specification "Disappear" either, considering that a lot of places that tested it said DDR400 didn't work on the boards tested. In fact juin pointed 1 or 2 out where the SiS 648 worked with DDR400 but the P4X400 did not.
