FOR SALE - Sony PCM-R500 Professional DAT Recorder

The standard for pro-use DAT, found in radio stations and studios
worldwide and superior to the similar Panasonic model. Similar to flagship
Sony DAT PCM-R700 ($2700 SRP) with most of its features excepting monitor
head. According to Radio World: "The only DAT deck in the 'popular price'
category with four direct-drive motors." Has a proven track record with
DAT enthusiasts. Highest possible sound quality with built-in Super Bit
Mapping (achieves S/N equivalent to 20-bit system) and a rugged design for
years of trouble-free use. Operational ease is assured by Shuttle and Jog
Dial; extensive interface options and multiple menu modes.
High-reliability 4 D.D. Mechanism Transport - gives stable tape run - far
superior to spindles, belts and wheels. Auto head-cleaning. Setup Menu -
sets ID6, level sync threshold, date, error indicator. Supplied with DIN
8-pin parallel remote control plus wireless remote. Interfaces: Digital
I/O, AES/EBU (XLR), Coaxial RCA, Analog I/O, Balanced (XLR), Unbalanced
(RCA). R-Core transformer for reduced leakage flux. Independent recording
level controls for Ch1 & Ch2 - eliminates interchannel cross-talk.
Perfect condition, in original box with manual and remotes plus 15 DAT

telephone interviews for broadcast or other purposes: Consists of Microtel
portable battery-operated (9V) telephone interface box which connects to
phone line and controls levels of incoming phone, attached microphone and
headset or speaker. Has output jacks to tape recorder and XLR input jack
for mic. Mic is Shure SM48 omni dynamic with windscreen on desk stand,
headphones Aiwa. With 3 ft. Monster Cable mic cable and phoneline patch
cable. All in excellent condition, with operations manual for Microtel.
Unit is about 3" x 2.5" x 5.5." Microtel originally $272, mic $80. Asking
