Hi,

I am in the awkwards position of being forced to buy a monitor in a very short space of time. After doing some reading, it looks like the last two flat panels recommended on this site are the Hyundai Q17 and Hercules pV 920 Pro DVi. My question is - which of the two are better, or is there really much difference? The difference in price is negligible, so if there is a marked difference I'd rather go for the better one :)

Good luck finding the Q17 from I've seen on these posts.Do you have a source found?

I would get Hercules. Most Q17 are not DVI.

Another issue is that some Q17s were reported to have the AUO panel instead of the Hyundai panel.

I have the PV 920 Pro DVI and I am very impressed by it.

Hmm, I am also interested in one of the panels mentioned; however I read that the PV 920 Pro DV has a very limited viewing angle; I need a panel that can show divx's and dvd's to a small audience, not something that was recommended in tom's comparative review. Anyone had any experience with this panel?

The Q17 and the Hercules are based upon the same panel.

Doesn't this mean that they have the same viewing angle?

The Hyundai Q17 is a much older product than the Hercules PV 920 Pro DVI, at least they don't share the same spec. Read my post for "Hercules PV 920 Pro DVI = Sharp LL-T17D4-B/H":
