so im trying to setup a wired setup for my rig bc im getting less than 500kb per sec and i was wondering if I would need to have a 50ft cable so it could go into my router in the other room? would it be better if i would get a network card or would my motherboard be fine? how much improvement (mbps) do you think I would get? tips?

Onboard LANs are pretty reliable these days and since computers are so fast these days, onboard LAN and onboard audio use up very little resources compared to the days of old. Save your money and try the onboard LAN. You can get the newest drivers from your motherboard manufacturer's web site.
