My computer (running vista) keeps rebooting with an ndis.sys error. If I try safe mode with networking I get the same error and crash. Normal safe mode works. I thought therefore that it has to be something to do with networking but I don't know what ? Looking through the event log I find lots of references to dcom not being able to start the netprofm service and errors like this one :
"tcp/ip netbios helper service depends on the Ancilliary function driver for winsock which failed to start because a device attached to the system is not functioning"
Hopefully someone can help me as I have been 3 days now struggling with this :-(

Remove the network adapter in safe mode, reboot, does it boot normally then? If not, you need to run though a Repair setup of Windows using your disk.
