I just purchased an Asus K53E-BBR17 laptop a few days ago. After I got through and did a clean install of Windows 7, I went and did all of my customizations, and I tried to modify the right-click menu using registry edits that I found online. They would add to the registry successfully, but would not appear in the right-click menu. I also tried to delete the graphic preferences, which worked, but after rebooting, they reappeared again. I've searched the internet for a few days and have had no success in solving this.

Steps I've taken so far:
Clean install Windows 7 (twice)
Modify permissions in both regedit itself and individual registry items

Specs:
Asus K53E-BBR17 Laptop
Core i5-2450M processor
Intel HD3000 Graphics
8 GB G.SKILL RAM
Seagate Momentus XT 750 GB HDD/SSD hybrid drive
Windows 7 Professional

One thing to note is that my old laptop had the exact same HDD, RAM, and OS and I had no issues on that. I also had no issues using the right-click edits on my desktop.

I'm trying to add menus for "Windows Apps," "System Tools," "System Shortcuts," and "Desktop Shortcuts" as seen on http://www.askvg.com

Links for items are below.

Thank you for the reply, but I want to add items to the right-click menu, not the start menu.

tried everything and didn't work or fix right click , ran the Malwarebytes and it found and corrected the right click problem and quarantined the problem pup/pum which disabled the right click, my suggestion is to run a malwarebytes scan and it should fix the problem. it worked for me. also, Norton antivirus did not pick up the problem but malwarebytes did. good luck
