Firmware update qustions

I don't know much about CD-RW firmware update. Please help me!

I want to know that if the firmware update process fails to complete successfully (due to power failure etc.) will my CD-RW become unusable?

Yes, but the odds of that happening are pretty slim, and you can redo it as long as you still have the executable file. Its a similar procedure to a M/B BIOS flash just not quite as serious.
