Need help connecting to a router down stairs

Hi guys, I have one computer upstairs and one computer downstairs. My router is currently downstairs with the other computer. Right now I'm using this USB wifi adapter dongle (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166049) to connect to my home's wifi network. However the speed and connection just isn't cutting it. I was thinking about getting a CPI Express wifi card, would that increase my speed? What do you guys think is the best option? Thanks!

Highly unlikely it will make any difference. The USB connection is much faster than any wireless so limiting factor is the wireless signal not the difference in bus speed between the 2 adapters.

Best option is to find a solution that does not use wireless like a ethernet cable or powerline adapters.

One cheap thing to try is to put you usb adapter on a USB extension cable and see if you can get better signal by moving it around the room
