Thanks m3thod, downloading as we speak.

Sure would be nice if BF2 would issue a popup or something. But having good
Samaritans keeping the masses notified is a good thing.. ;-)

Seems as if someone forgot to update the ID text when the 1.02 client
installer starts up, plus at the end when the installer has finished
patching -- it still says 1.01. However the new patch file size is 3
Mbytes larger than V1.01. It also seems to install just fine over
1.01.

After the 1.02 patch the in-game version number should be :
1.1.2484.0... at least for the US version patched with the
English-language patch selection.

The EA Monopoly can't be bothered to properly bugtest their patches.

At the very least, the server memory leak appears to be gone. Running for 10
hours without 1+GB consumed memory like 1.01. Thanks EA Monopoly for taking
your time with this patch and screwing everything up by asking people to
roll back to 1.01.

Morons. This was my only exception to the EA Monopoly boycott and it may be
the last.

I haven't checked the client update yet... does it do away with the stupid
logins? Does it let you connect from outside the game?

The long login times are not the client. gamespy has already said it's the
result of the many fan/clan/etc. sites accessing gamespy's servers for BF
stat data. They've been doing upgrade work. It seems to have gotten better
in the last few days.

Does this work on the UK version?
