Which DVD-ROM drive?

I'm looking at some DVD-ROM drives at <a href="">;/a>, and wouldn't mind knowing which drive you people think is respectable alongside a respectable price at the same time.

I've heard praises about Lite-On CD-RW drives, but I've never really come across praise about DVD-ROM drives.

My budget is about £60 maximum, but ideally less than £40. I don't want something flash, just something reliable, sturdy and guaranteed to last a few years (unlike my Creative 48x CD-ROm drive...)!

Thanks a lot!

Grab a pioneer, they are the best and I would think in your price range.

I just bought two lite on's for 29.00 apiece. They are great, I have never had a problem.

I have good experience with both Lite On and Pioneer DVD-ROM.

well it seems that people either like Pioneer or Liteon... take your pick.

personally i love my pioneer trayless 106S. use it for everything.

You can probably add Cendyne to that list of recommended drives. I'm not sure about their DVD drives, but their CD-RW drives are in fact Lite-On drives (which I believe are actually the same as the TDK VeloCD).
