I use an old MOTU 2408 (Mk 1) into a PCI card on my old computer (used
pretty much just for internet etc now), & RME multiface into cardbus on a
recent laptop. I'm pretty sure the answer's no, but can I use the MOTU into
the laptop with the RME's cardbus cord (same plug/socket type to hardware
box) if I load the MOTU drivers? I think I recall MOTU saying they use a
proprietry format, & can't try it out without clipping a bunch of cable ties
first. I imagine the PCMCIA card has some DSP the MOTU won't talk to as
well?

The MOTU PCI card needs to be used. There is no laptop option.
