these are more numbers about pc game sales to make us all
see we must act now!

year 1998 tribes sold 200,000 units
year 2001 tribes 2 sold 400,000 units
year 2004 tribes vengeance sold 40,000 units

tribes vengeance sold 10x times less than tribes 2 and 5x
times less than original tribes!
and why?
is it a inferior product than the previous games? NO!
is it a game targeting a reduced group or gamers? NO!
didn't it bring new things to tribes? YES!
isn't it a quality well made product? YES!
so the only reasonable explanation for these brutal decline
is piracy and gamers leaving the pc as their main gaming
platform
and both of these issues, piracy and gamers leaving the pc
are issues we pc gamers have the obligation to do something
about
with all these numbers like overall pc game sales declining
with riddick only selling 30,000 units and with all these
numbers comparing the various tribe sequels and their sale
figure its way enough for us all to see the serious situation
we are in... yes low sales is also our problem cause if this
goes on pc games will decline in everything and if pc games
decline WE GET HURT!

remember when tribe fans came to this group flaming vivendi
for abandoning doing more patches for tribes vengeance?
vivendi replied to them showing they are a proper publisher
and one that really cares for us and said the obvious that
they gave up doing more patches due to extremely low sales
anyone will blame them for doing so? off course not!
so who's fault is tribes vengeance will no longer be patched?
vivendi's for sure is not!
but piracy is to blame!
and microsoft also is to blame for in the last years promoting
a rival product making gamers leave the pc!
and also we pc gamers are also to blame cause we aren't making
enough to protect our favorite hobby!
lets protect what we love... pc games!
lets fight against piracy!
lets bring back those gamers that left the pc!
lets make more people buy and play pc games!
if each one of us brings to pc games a friends or relative or
co-worker it will make a difference!
if each one of us refuses to pirate their own pc games it will
make a difference!
if each one of us helps a fellow gamer with troubleshooting a
pc game it will make a difference!
make a difference! be a true pc gamer!
long live pc games! pc games are the best!

Tribes 1 was innovative and great. Tribes 2 was full of bugs and the
developer (Dynamix) disappeared after they released it. Tribes 3 (though
pretty good) was made by someone else (Irrational) and changed the format by
including single player and a story and simultaneously removing some of the
depth and complexity of the MP. These things will have had an impact.
