I just bought a Hercules Muse 5.1 DVD card,
the drivers for it sucks quite alot..
But anyways, now I'm running with the chip-manufacturers (c-media) drivers.. but 1 problem is still there...
The Windows audio-mixer Master volume doesn't work like it did before.. (in windows2000 its pretty sensitive and can be quite high) .. its at maximum now .. wave too .. and since I changed card I have had to raise my 2 stereo's 6 times the volume I had before, to make them sound as high as before...
And having such high volume makes alot of static sound when not playing stuff also...
It's really a pain in the ass...
So if someone knows how to raise the max volume in Windows / the mixer .. (through registry or something) .. Please help..

P2 300mhz / 768mb ram / 40+46gb hdd / Windows2000-Server / DirectX 8.1

Just a comment:

I don't have the same card, but I've got something similar, the Game Theater XP 6.1.

I noticed that when the "Enable Stereo Expansion" option was checked, my sound level dropped drastically.

After disabling that, I installed an "Enhancer" plugin for Winamp 2.xx that added a 20db boast. After setting the speaker volume at a normal level, now I can't play anything over about a 7% volume level in Winamp without blowing myself out of the room.

It's worth a look, if you'd like a little more volume, and would also like a customizable reverb. ENHANCER
