He was born a hero; there is nothing he can do about it now except
follow the hero's path.

Cookie? He'll sit for it.

He knows I will eventually give in and hand over the cake. After all I cannot
use the usual expedient of eating it myself to keep him from it. Bad Carb!
No Cake! Bad Allergy! No Wheat!

So what does he do to help me preserve my waistline? He's on a quest to make
me a wheat free cake that meets his standards!

And now we are back to:

Bad Husband! No Cake!

I think I have a recipe for a chocolate cake that uses no wheat flour,
just ground almonds. Are you allergic to almonds or chocolate?

Oh, you're going to be evil too!

Agh! My waistline!

I'm not allergic to either - that sounds like it could be good, though.

Gluten free *and* low carb, that is very hard to find.

Er. Yup. It's been great for my waistline, in combination with workouts,
but it has me try to avoid dinner invitations and Italian restaurants.

I'm not as bad off as a friend who cannot, in addition, have yeast, milk
products or onions, but I'm not someone you want to invite over to eat pizza
and stuff CDs in mailers for a promo campaign. Oh...wait a second...dang.

It was OK, though, I picked up some Hard Times Chili on the way over and
they keep a stash of Diet Coke on hand for me.

Whee.

Chicken Marsala can be a relatively good low carb Italian choice.

Oh man, I eat a LOT of onions and garlic and cheese since I changed my
diet. Without that life would be difficult.

Diet drinks tend to make me feel a bit bloated... I make a lot of the
Atkins Mix Banana nut and Blueberry muffins, and Sugarless jello with whipped
cream is a nice dessert. Splenda is I think the definitive sugar substitute;
being derived from sugar it tastes right and it can be used in recipes as a
teaspoon for teaspoon replacement.
