Ifi jbod 2 drives that means that data is realatively secure, like if one fails, you will still have data on the other one? or am I completlely wrong? Thanks

Although JBOD is more secure than RAID 0, if a drive in a JBOD set dies it still might not be that easy to recover files on the other drive. This really depends on how the OS manages the disks.

Yes, the RAID controller does not distribute information on the disks, so each can be used independently. You can compare it to loosing the FAT table of a single drive. although all your data still exists its pretty much useless since you dont know where it is.

what you want is RAID 1, where the second drive is an exact duplicate of the first.
