Until today, I was using a Yamaha CRW3200EZ. For some reason, it took about 6 and a half minutes to make an image of a cd and burning took about 5 and a half. I thought it was just because the drive was slow... So I bought a TDK VeloCD 48x today. But WTF!! Same speeds! Actually, the TDK was about 45 seconds slower! What's going on??!??!!
I'm thinking that it's because my hard drive (Quantum FireballP LM30) is on PIO. Could this be the problem??? I have it set in BIOS to Auto and in Windows XP to use 'DMA if available.'
I am running a fresh format (as of this afternoon) of Windows XP w/ SP1. And I have tried burning with Nero and CloneCD. Both programs burn equally slow...
What is the problem here?? Why is my computer burning so slow (with BOTH of these drives)??!!
