Range extension advice

Neighbour has a long building consisting of several flats, Satellite Broadband into a T-Link TL - WR841N. Signal quite reasonable throughout about 2/3 of the building, but could do with a boost. Tried an Edimax 300M Range Extender, which would work for a day or two, then fail to connect. (probably because I set it up wrong!) Also I have a Lynksys WRT54GL W'less Router and a Belkin Wireless G Router F5D7230-4 at my disposal.
Which combination would you choose, and what advice to set up? I assume it would be best to keep the T-link in place as it's Wireless N?

More about range extension advice
  1. how is the extender connected to the T-Link?
  2. Would have to be wireless...It will actually be situated about 20 metres away and sits in a window where it gets a reasonable signal
  3. you could try the Linksys with DD-WRT firmware

and configure it as a bridge repeater

  4. Thanks for that, might take a few days before I get to it, but I'll give it a go...
