Activision accused of trying to "kill off" indie studio

Call of Duty: Finest Hour developer files $10 million suit accusing
publisher of fraud, breach of contract, and stealing employees and
sequel ideas.

.....................................................................

The complaint says "Activision repaid Spark by usurping Spark's rights
and taking for itself only all benefits of the contract...then followed
up this usurpation by seeking to kill off Spark altogether. [Emphasis
added.]

Activision refused to pay Spark the royalties owed on Finest Hour or
the bridge financing due under the contract, stole Spark's idea, and
then hired away Spark's own employees to develop that sequel, hoping
that if Spark was sufficiently crippled, Spark would be unable to
protect its rights."

---------------------------------------------------------------------
......................................................................

This article is LONG , it goes on and on about how much "Spark" hates
activision and how activision stole money and ideas.

It then ends by saying Activision has no comment on the legal battle.

Maybe they should have used stronger copy protection on their business
ideas and better AI in their negotiations.

These people cry about the internet , then turn around and steal cash
and ideas from each other ? What a laugh.

They aren't. GameSpot had that news item and someone mistakenly thought
we would care...

I read Activision farted in bed, then pulled the sheets over Sparks
head.

<snip the usual disgusting pro steam propaganda>

you again
don't you have anything better to do than steam propaganda
in this group?
weren't you on vacation or something?
so good this group not having to deal with your disgusting
steam propaganda

mister everything has a middle man
do you buy food directly from the producer?
you must realize the market is not only the producer and
the end consumer cause more needs to exist for it to work
properly

the facts are very clear
2004 releases like painkiller, doom 3 and riddick are now
being sold bellow 20 bucks and how much do you pay for hl2
which is also a 2004 release?
no don't tell me they bundle a bunch of games, i only want
to play hl2 so how much do i have to pay to play hl2 via
steam? 50 bucks right? so do you see a difference?
obviously not cause price in not a problem and you have
the income to pay for expensive systems like steam

other thing, with steam there is still a middle man valve
and you could even call it a "publisher"
valve wants to replace the now retail publishers to become
itself a e-publisher
but obviously for you valve is an angel so it is the only
one capable of being a publisher in pc games
all others are evil and valve is the angel

conclusions
so first steam doesn't cut the middle man it only replaces
it with a another
second steam is a expensive system for high income gamers
not only cause it sells games at much higher prices but
it requires expensive reliable broadband connection
third steam infected games can only be released on steam
taking choice and alternative from consumers which is
always very very bad

last but not least, valve continues to do business with
publishers even after the divorce with vivendi they now
made an agreement with ea, yes big monopolistic ea
wasn't it so predictable? the two most hated and greedy
publishers in business joining and valve still needing
the retail market to spread and infect steam into gamers

please once again don't even bother replying cause from
you nothing worthy comes out about steam
you do very good posts in other matters but when it comes
to steam you a worth ZERO

--
post made in a steam-free computer
i said "NO" to valve and steam
