Firewire Card can not install

Hi guys, please help me.

I just got an IEEE1394 card (VIA 6306 chip), When I was trying to install the driver on WIN2K, I always got an error message "Data not valid".but under Win98SE, the card works!!.

I've tried many different version WIN2K ( Advanced Server, Server) with SP2 & SP3, and I disabled all onborard functions (Sound, USB ,RAID and Network).no luck yet.

My computer is :

AMD 1800XP CPU
GigaByte 7VRXP ver 1.1 (F8 BIOS)
512M RAM
Leadtek GF3 Ti200 64MB
Segate 80GB HD

Does any one have the same problem? Please tell me how to fix it, the card drives me crazy! I need your help.

download the driver from the website, it sounds like the 2k driver is corrupted

how do you shoot the devil in the back? what happens if you miss? -verbal

thanks for your reply. I've checked the driver update from M$ web site. it's only for the win2k without any sp installed. But now my win2k has already installed sp3. it does not allow me to install. Would you mind tell me where to get the latest driver?

no, get the driver from the maker of the card or the mother board.
