USB port on laptop is unresponsive

Hello,
i have an acer laptop and i have 3 usb ports. 2 of the 3 work, the other doesnt pick up any devices i plug into it. i can still use it to charge things, but it wont open them and the devices work properly in other drives and computers. but since it is delivering power, im thinking its some kind of software issue. is there a way i can fix this without buying any expensive software?

they look fine to me. i dont really understand how to use the link you gave me to help in this situation, but within a small inspection, all the pins are there, nothing wiggles, and it looks the same as the other usb's.

the power is on the outside with the ground but the 2 middle ones that the one who send data to the device,close power on the system and gently lift up a bit the 2 middle pins then try to see if you could get data from them

i lifted the two pins, turned on my laptop and still no luck. i thought u were gonna be right! X) thank you anyway

yes i have 3 usb's. 1 of the 3 doesnt work. it originally DID work, then one day i plugged in my flashdrive and nothing happened. i also looked in my drivers and it says its working just fine. but just in case you're right where could i get a driver for a usb?
