Process of dialing fax numbers

Hello,
i have got a number of faxs to send,
i already have the number but they are not being accepted, ie;
do i need to add a o somewhere in the number iv'e been given?.

dial the number on a regular phone. You can hear when a fax answers. The dialing pattern is identical for fax and normal phone. saying exactly how you dial is tough to guess since it varies quite a lot country to country.
