hi
i have four partition on the sme hard drive: c,d,e,f
i want to format only c:. if i use the format c:\ command would it delet all of the partitions?

Only the c: partition would be affected by "format c:". But it is your boot/system drive, so don't expect the machine to boot from the HD after it. Probably best to do a clean boot from a diskette or some such before formatting the c: drive. Reinstalling the OS <i>and</i> apps, or installing new OS and apps?

If you are using eg windows and you want to format your boot drive, you have to boot from something else than that drive, since windows does not allow you to format the boot drive.
